Terms and Conditions
We stand 100% behind our products and the manufacturers who produce them. We will make every effort to resolve any issues that may arise. By making a purchase from Morse Home Furnishings, you agree to the following terms and conditions.
1. Custom Orders & Special Items
Special orders where custom fabrics, colors, or configurations are selected are non-refundable and non-cancelable. Once your order is placed, we immediately begin the building or ordering process with our manufacturers.
Exceptions: At our sole discretion, we may permit cancellation of a custom order. In such cases, a restocking fee of twenty-five percent (25%) of the purchase price, plus any applicable shipping or delivery charges, will be assessed.
Color Variations: Items viewed on computer screens or sample swatches may not exactly match the final product due to variations in monitors, lighting, and dye lots. We recommend researching colors and fabrics thoroughly before ordering. Color variation does not constitute grounds for return or exchange.
2. Fabrics & Comfort
Manufacturers of upholstered fabrics do not guarantee their merchandise against shrinkage, color fading, or quality wear. Accordingly, we are unable to accept claims, adjustments, or credits related to fabric performance.
Comfort Disclaimer: Personal comfort is subjective. No written or implied comfort guarantee is made, and comfort preferences are not a valid basis for return.
Commercial Use: All warranties apply only to residential, household use. Use of any merchandise for commercial purposes voids all warranties.
3. Measurements & Fitment
We provide dimensions for all products in item descriptions, on tags, and upon request. It is the customer's responsibility to measure doorways, stairways, hallways, and the intended placement area to ensure the furniture will fit prior to purchase.
Products that do not fit through entryways or into the intended space are not eligible for return or refund.
4. Floor Displays & As-Is Items
All floor display items are sold AS-IS. It is the customer's responsibility to fully inspect any items purchased directly from the showroom floor prior to completing the purchase. There are no returns, refunds, or exchanges on floor display items for any reason.
5. Return Eligibility
Returns may be considered only under the following conditions:
- Item must be new, unused, and in original condition from a smoke-free and pet-free environment.
- All original packaging must be 100% intact. Do not discard packaging until contents have been fully inspected.
- Items that have been assembled, or where assembly has been attempted, cannot be returned.
- If a personal repair is attempted on a damaged or defective item without first contacting us for a replacement part, the item becomes ineligible for repair, exchange, or refund.
Restocking Fee: Any approved return is subject to a restocking fee of twenty-five percent (25%) of the purchase price. Delivery fees are non-refundable.
6. Orders & Unreceived Items
Items that have been ordered but not yet received, not yet picked up, or not yet delivered are generally not eligible for cancellation, return, or refund.
Exceptions: In special circumstances, if cancellation is approved prior to shipment, a restocking fee of twenty-five percent (25%) of the purchase price or $200, whichever is greater, will apply.
7. Delivery
Inspection at Delivery: Customers are encouraged to inspect all items at the time of delivery. Any visible damage must be noted on the delivery receipt and reported within 24 hours.
Delivery Fees: Delivery fees are non-refundable once delivery has been scheduled or completed.
Delays: We are not responsible for delays caused by circumstances beyond our control, including but not limited to manufacturer delays, shipping carrier issues, weather events, or other force majeure circumstances.
8. Warranty & Right to Repair
Manufacturer Warranty: Most products carry a manufacturer's warranty. Warranty duration and coverage vary by manufacturer and product. Please ask a sales associate for specific warranty information at the time of purchase.
Right to Repair: Damages and defects to case goods (wooden furniture such as dressers, tables, and cabinets) are rare but do occur. Morse Home Furnishings reserves the right to repair a defective item before offering a replacement.
Repair Timeline: It may take up to 14 business days to confirm part availability, and an additional 14 business days to receive and install the part. If the item cannot be repaired within 30 days, a refund or replacement will be offered.
9. Accumulation Policy
"Accumulation" refers to multiple issues that have developed over time because they were not reported or addressed promptly. In cases of accumulation, we are unable to replace or repair the entire item.
Example: A single tear reported within the warranty period can be repaired or replaced. Multiple tears from unreported incidents over time cannot be addressed with a full replacement.
10. Reporting Damages & Defects
All damages, defects, or flaws must be reported within seven (7) days of receiving the item.
To report an issue, email jack@morsehomefurnishings.com with: (1) at least three clear photos, (2) your name and phone number, (3) a copy of your receipt, and (4) a description of the issue.
11. 30-Day Forfeiture Policy
We make every effort to contact customers regarding pickup or delivery. Items left at our location for longer than thirty (30) days without communication or prior arrangements will be forfeited. We will attempt written contact before forfeiture. No refunds for forfeited items.
12. Payment Terms
A deposit may be required for custom orders and is non-refundable once placed with the manufacturer. The remaining balance is due prior to delivery or pickup. We accept cash, checks, and major credit cards.
13. Limitation of Liability
Our liability is limited to the purchase price of the merchandise. We are not responsible for incidental or consequential damages, or for damage resulting from incorrect customer assembly.
14. Dispute Resolution
Any disputes shall be governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina. The parties agree to attempt good-faith negotiation before pursuing other remedies.
15. Changes to Terms
Morse Home Furnishings reserves the right to modify these terms at any time. The terms in effect at the time of purchase govern that transaction.
